Gifted and talented nominations |
|||
Campuses are currently accepting nominations for the Gifted and Talented program. Gifted and talented (GT) students are those identified as having a high level of intellectual ability by professionally qualified persons through a specified screening and selection process. These are children who require a differentiated program in order to realize their full potential. All students in grades kindergarten and first are screened for possible qualification. Students entering grades 3-12 next year may be nominated by any professional staff member at BHISD, their parents, or themselves. This is done by submitting the studentā?Ts name to the campus GT coordinator. Screening measures include achievement test composite results (90th percentile or greater is required), teacher nomination checklist, group and individually administered ability tests, creativity test and student portfolio. Please contact the campus GT coordinator with questions about the GT nomination, screening and selection process. The district GT Plan may also be accessed on this website at the site map. |
